Janet Maclean (She/Her), Registered Provisional Psychologist
WildRoots Psychological and Assessment Services
I remember as early as grade six telling people ‘I want to be a counsellor when I grow up.’ Truly, I have always wanted to be a counsellor, and at age 38, I embarked on a long journey to change my career and follow my dream.
I am compassionate, genuine, and non-judgmental. I want to hear your story and understand who you are. I believe that people are happiest when their life aligns with their values and beliefs. I also believe that the grind of our busy lives can unknowingly create distance between us and our values, which takes a toll on our mind, body, and soul.
I use an integrative approach from different therapy models and techniques. Counselling will help build your self-awareness and reflection so you can make changes, learn skills, and live life how you want.
Please check out my website for a deeper dive into me and my services. I consider an invitation to support your life journey and walk alongside you an honour.

For the last 4 years, all of my free time was spent studying, and now both of my children are playing hockey. So, my fate is sealed, free time is a thing of the past!
However, there are many things in life that bring me immense joy. To name a few: wordle, listening to the CBC Debaters, hiking/walking/adventuring anywhere outside, golfing, the ocean, fishing, reading, and drinking black coffee while eating cheesecake.
