Shannon Borg (They/Them), Graduate Intern Therapist
The Mind Place
I am completing my Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology through Athabasca University, with a focus on neurodiversity-affirming care and a client-centered approach. I bring years of experience supporting children, youth, and families through mental health challenges, crisis intervention, and parenting programs. As part of my Master's program, I am completing a practicum at The Mind Place under the supervision of Amy Patterson, R. Psych.
I am autistic with ADHD, with an understanding shaped by discovering my neurodivergence latter in life. I bring a strong academic and personal focus on neurodiversity. I am a parent to neurodivergent children, and this experience has shaped my commitment to neuroaffirming, strengths-based environments. I bring this perspective into the therapeutic relationship by supporting clients in exploring their authentic selves, recognizing their unique strengths, and using their interests and strengths as foundations for self-care, self-compassion, and personal growth. My areas of interest include supporting neurodivergent clients of all ages, working with children and parents, and providing affirming care for 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and communities."

I am interested in weight lifting, running, art, witchy stuff, and helping others learn to be authentic/ unmask.
