Julia Kovacova (She/Her), Registered Provisional Psychologist
Julia Kovacova Counselling
Welcome!
My name is Julia, and I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist. I work with individuals and couples, supporting clients with a range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, experiences related to trauma and chronic pain, perfectionism, self-esteem, and relationship challenges.
I also support clients who would like help with assertive communication and boundary setting, particularly while navigating relationships or life transitions. In my work, I draw from therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and mindfulness-based strategies.
I view therapy as a collaborative process and tailor my work to each client’s needs, goals, and preferences, with an emphasis on what feels most helpful and supportive.
My approach is warm, non-judgmental, and authentic. I believe clients are the experts on their own lives, and that therapy is a space where we can work together to better understand experiences and patterns.

Personal Interests:
I am originally from Europe and have been in Canada for almost a decade now, though I am still not used to the cold.
In my free time, I enjoy playing video games, creating art, and playing guitar, as well as finding fun ways to move, whether that’s at the gym, hiking, or dancing ballet. I also enjoy spending time in nature, or sipping on a latte that someone else made for me.
I share my life with a sassy Jack Russell Terrier named Eddie, who can sneeze on command.
