Rebecca Everett (She/Her), Graduate Intern Therapist

Heart Body Mind Psychological & Assessment Services

Starting September 2026!

Hello! I'm Rebecca, a graduate intern therapist currently completing a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. I hold a Bachelor of Health Sciences with a major in Addictions Counselling, which has allowed me to work in the field of addictions and mental health for the last 7 years including frontline harm reduction services, outpatient clinics, and inpatient mental health. These experiences have allowed me to support individuals through some of the most challenging and vulnerable moments of their lives and has reinforced my belief that healing often begins when we feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood.

I'm interested in anxiety, addiction, stress, self-esteem, interpersonal and relational challenges, and life transitions. I don't believe therapy is about "fixing" people. Instead, I see it as a space to better understand yourself, explore patterns that may no longer be serving you, develop new ways of coping, and move toward meaningful change.

My approach is warm, collaborative, relational, and person-centred. I draw from different therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and narrative approaches. Our work together will be tailored to your unique needs, experiences, and goals. Above all, my hope is to create a safer, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where you can show up exactly as you are, to work together at a pace that feels comfortable and right for you.

Personal Interests

I was born and raised in the Rocky Mountains in BC, and have been in Calgary for the last 5 and a half years. While I still love to ski on a blue bird day winter day, I've become less fond of Calgary's winters and have become a big fan of summer. I love paddle boarding, an early morning work out, iced americanos, and anything out in the sunshine. I love travelling to new places and am a big foodie. One of my favourite places that I've travelled to was Peru, where I did a four day trek through the Salkantay Pass to Machu Picchu, which I can say that I did not complain once (or at least that's how I remember it).

I also enjoy slowing down, spending time connecting with my friends and family, and watching Bravo with my orange cat, Carl, who has plenty of personality and keeps me entertained. Over the last couple years, I've developed a love for reading, and will always take recommendations. I value meaningful connections, a good sense of humour, and finding balance between staying busy and taking time to recharge. In my own experience, behavioural activation has been one of the best modes of medicine, and I hope to bring this into my practice.
